After it greens up completely in late spring, then every four to six weeks through summer. Zoysia needs less nitrogen than bermuda, so do not over-feed.
At 1 tsp per quart, the 8 oz bottle makes about 48 watering cans of feed. For a typical shelf of 10–15 plants fed every 1–2 weeks in season, that's several months of feeding — and the 32 oz bottle four times that.
A hose-end sprayer set to the labeled rate covers a lawn in one pass; use a watering can for small patches. Apply in the morning or evening and water in lightly.
Zoysia is naturally slow-spreading and dislikes shade. Full sun, consistent moisture and moderate feeding through summer are what speed it up; heavy nitrogen just builds thatch.
Yes once it has been watered in and the grass is dry. It contains nutrients only — no herbicides or pesticides.
Not at the labeled rate. Liquid feeding spreads evenly, so you avoid the streaks and burn spots uneven granular spreading can cause. Skip application in extreme heat.
Most lawns green up within one to two weeks of the first feeding; thickening builds over a few applications.
