Worm Castings Concentrate

In spring and summer, apply once weekly at 1-2 tsp per gallon of water, using a watering can or a hose-end sprayer on the 2 tsp setting. In fall and winter, cut back to every 4-8 weeks. Because it feeds soil biology rather than the plant directly, use it alongside your regular fertilizer, not instead of it. Regular light applications through the growing season build soil life more effectively than occasional heavy ones.

At 1 tsp per quart, the 8 oz bottle makes about 48 watering cans of feed. For a typical shelf of 10–15 plants fed every 1–2 weeks in season, that's several months of feeding — and the 32 oz bottle four times that.

Fertilizer supplies the nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium that feed the plant. This worm casting concentrate supplies beneficial microbes and humic compounds that feed and improve the soil, helping roots take up the nutrients your fertilizer provides. It has no NPK analysis because that's not its job. Use the two together: the concentrate builds healthy soil, and your fertilizer feeds the plant growing in it. One doesn't replace the other.

For the optional compost-tea method, add 4 oz of worm tea and 1 oz of molasses per gallon of water, then brew it with an air bubbler for 1 to 3 days before diluting with fresh water and applying to plants. The bubbler oxygenates the mix so the beneficial microbes multiply, and the molasses feeds them during brewing. Use brewed tea fairly fresh, since the living microbes are most active soon after brewing rather than after long storage.
