Frequently asked questions

When should I start feeding seedlings?

Once the first set of true leaves appears — the pair after the initial seed leaves. Before that, the seed itself supplies everything the sprout needs.

How long will one bottle last?

At 1 tsp per quart, the 8 oz bottle makes about 48 watering cans of feed. For a typical shelf of 10–15 plants fed every 1–2 weeks in season, that's several months of feeding — and the 32 oz bottle four times that.

How often should I feed seedlings?

At the labeled seedling rate with every watering once true leaves appear, or every 1–2 weeks at the standard rate once plants have several sets of leaves.

Will fertilizer cause damping off?

No, damping off is a fungal problem driven by wet, stagnant conditions. Keep air moving, water from below where you can, and feed at the labeled seedling rate so the mix never sits saturated.

Which seedlings can I use it on?

All of them — tomato seedlings, pepper seedlings, lettuce starts, herb seedlings and flower starts, and any other young starts or cuttings.

Will it burn tender seedlings?

Not at the seedling rate — the formula is deliberately gentle. Water it into moist mix rather than dry, and never mix stronger than the label.

When will I see results?

Stockier stems and deeper green within a week or two, and transplants that take off faster once they go in the ground.
