Bloom Fertilizer

In spring and summer, apply once weekly at 1-2 tsp per gallon, using a watering can or a hose-end sprayer on the 2 tsp setting. In fall and winter, cut back to every 4-8 weeks. Because it has no nitrogen, use it alongside your regular complete fertilizer during blooming rather than as the only feed — it boosts flowering, but the plant still needs nitrogen and micronutrients from another source to stay healthy overall.

At 1 tsp per quart, the 8 oz bottle makes about 48 watering cans of feed. For a typical shelf of 10–15 plants fed every 1–2 weeks in season, that's several months of feeding — and the 32 oz bottle four times that.

Regular fertilizer contains nitrogen to drive overall growth, along with phosphorus and potassium. This bloom formula is 0-10-10 — no nitrogen, just the phosphorus and potassium that support flowering. The idea is to shift a plant's energy toward blooms once it's established, without pushing more leafy growth. It's a supplement for the flowering stage, used with your normal feed, not a replacement for it, since a plant still needs nitrogen to live.

Usually too much nitrogen relative to phosphorus and potassium — it favors foliage over flowers. That's the gap a 0-10-10 like this fills. But flowering depends heavily on light and maturity too: most flowering plants need full sun to bloom, and many won't flower until established. If a plant sits in shade or is still young, no bloom fertilizer will force flowers. Check that sunlight and plant age aren't the real limits first.

No — with 0% nitrogen and no micronutrients, it isn't a complete feed. A plant fed only on 0-10-10 would eventually run short on nitrogen and stall its growth. Use it as a bloom booster during flowering season, paired with a balanced or nitrogen-containing fertilizer that covers the plant's full needs. It's a targeted supplement for more and better flowers, not a standalone diet for the plant.

During active bloom season, plants often respond within a few weeks with stronger bud set and better flower quality on new blooms. Flowers already open won't change, so you're feeding the next round of buds. The clearest results come over a full flowering cycle of consistent weekly feeding, and only when light and overall care already support blooming in the first place.
