Ammonium Nitrate Fertilizer

When extra nitrogen may be helpful

• Alongside a regular fertilizer that supplies little or no nitrogen
• For plants in soilless mixes or hydroponics, where nitrogen is not supplied by the soil
• When a soil test shows nitrogen is low
• For crops that use a lot of nitrogen, such as lawns, corn and leafy vegetables
• During active growth, when demand for nitrogen is highest

Light, watering, roots, temperature and pH shape how a plant looks, and shortfalls of different nutrients can resemble one another, so look at the whole plant, or test the soil, before adding nitrogen.
